Looking forward to following you.
Gah, sorry I haven’t updated. The babies are doing well, 1 of them died last Thursday. So there is 3 left. Stella, Bentley and Scout. Stella is the boss. She runs them all, and beats them up. Bentley is the shy, quiet one, and Scout is the fatty who never stops eating. There personalities have really started to come through in the last few days. They’re about 4 weeks old now.
Wednesday night I got Dakota. A 10 week old black kitten. He’s an absolute lovebug, just sits on your chest and gives you kisses. Yesterday we held an adoption event at the pet store, and he was adopted, but he has an Upper Respiratory Infection (so does my Maci), and his owner is wanting him when they move into their new house in 2 weeks.
Then yesterday I got 3 bengal/tabbys but the bengal in them is so dominate! They’re absolutely beautiful cats. And completely amazing and fascinating. 1 male, Benji and 2 females, Lyrah and Adabel. I’m keeping Lyrah, she’s my sweet cuddly baby. Benji is cool. He’s really adventurous. And Adabel, is quiet and shy.
In a few days I’ll be getting Tatiana who got adopted along with Dakota so that I can bond them before they get to go home(:
Got a new batch of kittens today, and they are about 2-3 weeks old. 4 of them…2 black, 1 siamese, and 1 tabby. The male black cat is named Midnight, and the tabby is named Lyrah. No name for the female black, or the siamese yet. They are loud and they love drinking from the bottle. It is adorable, nothing like having to force Bambi to feed it(:
This is going to be an exciting journey, I promise I will keep you updated.
So..Bambi passed away this evening.. she woke up this morning and wouldn’t eat and was struggling for breath all day. I even attempted CPR on her but it did no good. I just cuddled her and kept her warm until she passed. She died in my arms, and knew she was loved. I did everything I could do for her. I may not have been able to save this one, but I’m not giving up on the many more I can save.
Tonka is leaving on Saturday and we’re getting another batch of bottle feeders. 4 three week old kittens.
Bambi is doing wonderful today! She’s alert, walking around, meowing. She’s drank OVER an ounce of milk today. Her eyes are clearing up, although I think she is blind in her left eye. She’s also pooped TWICE today, which is a really good sign! I put her on the floor this morning, and walked clear across the room and just said “Bambi baby” and she came to me. She knows momma’s voice(:
Tonka is doing well too, when I got him he was lanky, hissy, his fur was matted, his eyes were horrible. His eyes have cleared up and are that beautiful blue color, his fur is fluffy and soft, he loves human attention and to be cuddled, and he’s putting on weight.
Tonka will be leaving us within a few days and we’re getting 4 more 3 week old bottle feeders(:
So my first full day with the kittens went pretty well. Tonka, the 5 wk old siamese is a lot more friendly and less hissy today and is starting to explore and play. He’s also using the litterbox on his own. Bambi, the 3 wk old tabby is seemingly stronger today and a little bit brighter and perky. She isn’t consuming much milk, but I think she’s gonna be okay. She used the litterbox today too!:)
I think I’m going to keep Bambi and Tonka will be put in the adoption program(:
But, it’s been pretty crazy in the past couple months.
As most of you know, I have Harmony. A 2 year old lab mix. I’ve had her since she was 4 weeks old. Last June, I got Kitty a gray tabby. This past March I got a rabbit, Whisper. In May, I adopted another cat, a year old tabby named Mickey. I then got rid of Whisper because he was evil. At the beginning of June I adopted Maci, a 7 week old calico kitten. This last week I also decided to put Mickey back through the adoption program because he wasn’t getting along with the other animals and kept getting outside, and I live right by the highway and didn’t feel it was safe for him. The adoption lady I work with said she’d bring me another kitten to trade for Mickey, I told her I wanted a siamese. I also told her I was interested in fostering. She told me she’d bring me a siamese who was 4 weeks old, and another kitten to foster. So today she brings me the siamese and and a 3 week old Tabby, these kittens are TINY. In fact, I named the tabby Tiny. I’m still working on a name for the siamese…who I have to bottle feed by the way. I honestly think I’d rather keep the tabby instead of the siamese, but Maci isn’t getting along with them too well and I really don’t wanna upset any of my current animals..they were here first ya know? But Maci likes the tabby better than the siamese and if I foster the tabby and bottle feed it and have to hold it all the time it is gonna love me and be really friendly and that’s all I want..
Confusion, as you see. lol
I got another cat today, lol. His name is Mickey. He’ adorable:)
I went to Petsense and they have cats for adoption and he’s had a rough life, and I am a life saver:)
